Raahim Tariq is a Pakistani multimedia artist based in Toronto whose work unites traditional and digital practices. His practice merges hand-crafted textures with contemporary digital techniques, exploring identity, femininity, queerness and South Asian visual language in new ways. My latest series of work, "The Intimate Moments of Girlhood" is a celebration of the quiet, candid, and emotionally rich spaces shared between women. Inspired by my closest friends, the series reflects the warmth, chaos, humor, and tenderness that define female friendship. Each piece captures small but powerful rituals—late-night conversations, getting ready together, hyping each other up, or simply coexisting in comfort. These works honour girlhood as a layered emotional landscape, shaped by vulnerability, playfulness, and unspoken care. By portraying these intimate moments with sincerity and vibrancy, the series invites viewers to recognize the beauty within everyday connections and the depth of modern girlhood.
